I never imagined that I would become a published writer. I have loved the idea of writing – choosing words and weaving them together to capture a moment, claiming its place it time; but I never imagined I’d release my work into the world. So, when I published my first book of poetry “The Heart’s Journey Home” in February 2015, I stepped miles outside of my comfort zone.

With a BA in Psychology, I have had the privilege of working in the Counselling field for the past 15 years. Through my work and personal journey, I have witnessed the remarkable power of the human spirit. Now, as an author and writer, I am passionate about stories that touch the heart and awaken the soul.

I believe we are connected by similar and relatable experiences.  We all love/loved deeply and most likely have been on both sides of goodbye. We know the immobilizing force of grief; we experienced hardships that have brought tears, revelations, and self-discoveries of strength unknown. It’s astounding how resilient we can be, when truly tested.

The Heart’s Journey Home is poetry for the soul. ♥

The Heart’s Journey Home is a collection of poems that capture the essence of the fragility and the resiliency of our hearts – the brilliant beauty of life’s journey.

Life: it’s very complex. It’s full of pain and sorrow, but it is also full of love and happiness. How does one express these deep emotions? How does one put down in words the passage of time, the meaning of life itself? It is a difficult task, but Canadian poet Natalie Ducey has just the words to accomplish this task….

Using metaphors and similes, rhyming verse and free verse, Natalie has opened her heart to the renderings of the human spirit, the human soul. Cleverly presented; words that need repeated study and reflection.

  1. Wow Natalie! I was just going to bed, when, as I always do, I checked my mails, and saw that your party has already started. Good for me! Now, I am the early bird, and I get to eat the fattest worm. :D. I loved your book of poetry. I hope others do too. Have a wonderful day. Enjoy your party. :).

  2. Hi, Natalie! I am so not happy that you let Joy thru the door first! I was running so fast to get here, to be first, and I tripped over my own two feet, just as I noticed Joy skipping inside. Darnit! Darnit! Darnit! Thank goodness there was good poetry waiting for me when I finally got up off the ground and made it thru the door, or there would have been a different kind of party in this place today!

Thanks, Natalie! I enjoyed reading your poetry…even though JOY BEAT ME THRU THE DOOR FIRST!

    1. Thank you kindly, Mae! Your support is always greatly appreciated and indeed encouraging! I joined RRBC just before the Blog Party last year. It was a fantastic experience getting to know fellow members so quickly. I had no clue about blogging back then. No clue. It has been a remarkable year of friendship and learning. Have a fabulous day! 🙂

  6. So glad to meet you here. I’ve been blogging for five years, have two published books, working on the third, yet had not heard of RRBC. Sounds like a GREAT idea. Congrats on your poetry – I think we think alike.

    1. Thanks so much for stopping by today, Suzanna. I totally agree; poetry is very powerful. Poetry is a passion I discovered later in life. I strive to write poems that people can relate to. Receiving messages from readers stating how they connected with a particular piece of work is extremely moving. It also offers encouragement to keep writing and sharing it. Thanks again. Have a lovely day! 🙂
