Greetings, everyone! β™₯

Today I’d love to share a quick video tutorial on how to download and install beautiful fonts in seconds!

We live in a visual world. Many followers of my blog are writers, authors, and/or bloggers, AND readers. We share and market our work, and the work of others, through visuals. What grabs our attention? For me it’s pictures, but a big source of inspiration comes from the typography.

We can create beautiful marketing graphics using unique fonts. Our words convey a message and, hopefully, a story; but first we must gain a reader’s attention. Any font will convey a message, but the right font will tell a story. Your story. β™₯

Typography is also a huge part of branding. It’s huge and often gets overlooked, but it’s an essential piece of what we do. It’s important to choose a style that’s right for you and your work. We have this incredible opportunity to leave a lasting impression via visuals. Let’s make it an awesome one … and have fun doing it!

The possibilities are endless. You can (re)create your favourite quotes and share on your blog and social media sites. You can use snippets from your book or WIP and share with your readers AND garner new fans. How about sharing those amazing reviews you’ve received for your work! Celebrate it in style. You’ve earned it!

If you’re working with a lot of text, you can have a base font and add another to highlight specific words. I do this with my poetry and printables. The image above is one of my printables listed on Printable Art and Verse.

If you’re using fonts and graphics, it’s important to understand the Personal and Commercial Licences. I refer to this in the video tutorial. Because I sell my work, I always ensure I have the Commercial Licence for every font and graphic that I use. This doesn’t necessarily mean accessing and using these resources is costly. Nope. Not at all. The font used in the video tutorial is FREE and the Commercial Licence is included. Double score, my friends! β™₯

Let’s begin…

In this video tutorial, we visit FontBundles.net and download the FREE for Commercial Use Font – Beauty.

  1. Natalie, thank you for sharing this. I didn’t realize how simple it is to install fonts. Hooray! Thanks for walking me through it. I don’t have Photoshop, so I appreciate you showing me how it is done in Word as well. So helpful!

  2. What a handy post, Natalie. I’ve downloaded and installed fonts before, but it’s been a while so I could use a brush-up. And the font resources you’ve listed are fantastic, all of the fonts so beautiful. I’ve been smitten with lettering from the days when I used to do hand calligraphy. Your work is gorgeous!

    1. Awesome to hear, Mae. Thank you! I’d love to see your calligraphy work. I hope to be able to learn it on my tablet. There is sooooo much I want to learn and then pass it along to others. How fabulous that we can do it in this digital, global community. Cheers, my friend! πŸ™‚

  3. I’ve been never thought about adding new fonts Natalie, great post. Nice video showing how simple the process is along with what to look for, thanks:)

    1. Denise, I’m in constant amazement as to what is available. I’m completely fascinated with graphic design and have immersed myself into it. Creativity fuels the soul. Cheers to that! πŸ™‚

      1. It is fun to play with. I’ve felt limited with my choices so this was timely information for me! Yes, creativity does fuel the soul:)

    1. Delighted to share, Joy. I’ll be doing regular Tutorial Tuesday and Freebie Friday posts in hopes to pass along tips and resources. I love it. Happy creating! πŸ™‚

  4. Wow! Natalie, your post is like the ultimate stationary shop! πŸ˜€πŸ˜€I feel like a child, learning about the beauty and variety of fonts available. Your examples are so beautiful. I love fonts and think they are so important but had not idea of all these ones free to use, or the packages to buy. Thank you so much for sharing and I can’t wait to get creative! ❀️

    1. Annika, your words bring an instant smile! Thank you. πŸ™‚ It’s so much fun to tap into our creative side with visual art. I’ll be doing regular Tutorial Tuesday and Freebie Friday posts in hopes to pass along tips and resources. It’s a lot of fun. Thanks again. Happy creating! πŸ™‚

  5. I’ve always been a font fan. It’s nice to see another person appreciate them as much as I do.

And isn’t it frustrating when you find the perfect font but it isn’t free for commercial use? I’m never sure if a license is worth the price, so I usually look for a free alternative. It’s safer, but disappointing.

Love this post, Natalie. Sharing it on my weekly link post.

    1. Oh my gosh, Staci, there are so many beautiful fonts out there. I typically purchase bundles with graphics that come with commercial licence. Often times it’s cheaper than purchasing one font. I scored many free gems too! I’m starting a Freebie Friday post and will be sharing resources I find. They are just too good not to share. πŸ™‚
Thanks so much for including it with your weekly post. You rock! πŸ™‚

      1. I get a lot from Creative Market. I hadn’t heard of some of the other places you get fonts. I am going to check them out.

I think a Freebie Friday post is an excellent idea. I can’t wait to see what else you showcase.
