Still Me ~ This is my hope and prayer.

💕 Still Me 💕

This was written with the deepest respect for those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia, and their dear loved ones who know the journey well. I like to believe that although memories become fragmented and misplaced, the Soul never forgets. This is my hope and prayer.

I never imagined that I would become a published writer. I have loved the idea of writing – choosing words and weaving them together to capture a moment, claiming its place it time; but I never imagined I’d release my work into the world. So, when I published my first book of poetry “The Heart’s Journey Home” in February 2015, I stepped miles outside of my comfort zone.

With a BA in Psychology, I have had the privilege of working in the Counselling field for the past 15 years. Through my work and personal journey, I have witnessed the remarkable power of the human spirit. Now, as an author and writer, I am passionate about stories that touch the heart and awaken the soul.

I believe we are connected by similar and relatable experiences.  We all love/loved deeply and most likely have been on both sides of goodbye. We know the immobilizing force of grief; we experienced hardships that have brought tears, revelations, and self-discoveries of strength unknown. It’s astounding how resilient we can be, when truly tested.

The Heart’s Journey Home is poetry for the soul. ♥

The Heart’s Journey Home is a collection of poems that capture the essence of the fragility and the resiliency of our hearts – the brilliant beauty of life’s journey.

Life: it’s very complex. It’s full of pain and sorrow, but it is also full of love and happiness. How does one express these deep emotions? How does one put down in words the passage of time, the meaning of life itself? It is a difficult task, but Canadian poet Natalie Ducey has just the words to accomplish this task….

Using metaphors and similes, rhyming verse and free verse, Natalie has opened her heart to the renderings of the human spirit, the human soul. Cleverly presented; words that need repeated study and reflection.

A POEM TO SHARE

Today I’d like to share a poem called “Mighty Heart.” Pain and loss are universal, it’s a part of our heart’s journey. When we look beneath the surface of our wounds, however, we see a remarkable force that continues to carry us forward. We are resilient in this majestic, mystifying journey of life. Let’s recognize it and celebrate it!
