How to Embed A Canva Video in WordPress by Natalie Ducey
If you have a Canva account, you’re good to go. If you’re new to Canva, you can easily create a free account here, or use the link below.
The instructional video above was embedded following this step-by-step process.
Note: If you’re not sure how to create a video in Canva, be it a promotional piece, a book trailer perhaps, a YouTube video, etc. but don’t know where to start, please feel free to pop by my blog post ~ How to Create a Video in Canva ~ Step-by-Step Tutorials for Video Production and Editing.
How to Embed A Canva Video in WordPress
Okay, let’s get started. ♥
Once you’re logged into Canva and created your video design, let’s copy the HTML Embed code for the video and embed it in WordPress.
Access & Copy the HTML Embed code for a Video File in Canva by following these few steps:
- Click on Share.
- Scroll down and click on More.
- Under the Share options click on Embed.
- Choose HTML Embed Code and click on Copy.
Next, let’s embed the HTML code in WordPress following these few steps:
- In your Post or Page, click on the + icon to add a Block.
- Scroll down to Widgets.
- Select Custom HTML.
- Then paste the HTML Embed Code you copied in Canva.
- Click on Preview to view your Video.
- Publish when you’re ready!
Please Note:
The benefit of embedding a Canva Video using the HTML Embed Code (verses uploading an MP4 or GIF file) is that the file is “active” meaning any changes or edits you make in Canva are automatically updated in your WordPress Video.
If you prefer not to have your video in the above Canva “active” format, you have alternative options.
You can also Download your Canva Video in a final MP4 or GIF Format:
- Click on Share > Download
- Choose File Type ~ MP4 Video or GIF
- Click on Download
- Then Upload your Video to WordPress as a Video or Image file.
Also, if you’re using a Youtube Video, you can use the WordPress Embed Block > YouTube. It will display like below.
