In this short tutorial, let’s go through the few quick and easy steps to add a Custom Audio File to designs in Canva.
We’ll create and download our Graphic with Audio as an MP4 Video. ♥

Canva is a game-changer for creating beautiful graphics. With its easy-to-use templates, we can design graphics for Social Media, Marketing, and so much more.
AND we can easily create a graphic with Audio using a free Canva account, or trial Canva Pro 30 days for free!
My Poetry and Piano Melody
For this tutorial, I’m using a custom size 8×10 graphic I created for my poetry verse and then added my short piano melody.

How to Add a Custom Audio File to Designs in Canva!
Let’s jump in. ♥
You created your graphic and now you’d like to add an Audio File.
Step 1
First, click on Uploads > Audio > Upload Media. Another cool option you’ll notice is that we can record ourselves too!

Step 2
You’ll notice the various Upload Options. I’m using an Audio file saved on my computer so I’ve selected the option Device.

Then I selected the Audio file from my computer.

I can see that it’s been uploaded to my Audio files saved in Canva.
Step 3
The next step is to select the Audio file you uploaded and it will play with your design. You can see the Audio file I added is 19 seconds in length. You can play and test your audio/video by clicking on the > play arrow next to the Share option.

Step 4
The next step is setting the timing length for the design.
For my audio graphic, I changed the timing to 20 seconds to work with my 19-second piano melody.
NOTE: For the clock timer to appear you’ll need to click on the background outside of your graphic.
To change the timing of the audio, just click on the clock icon and insert the number of seconds you’d like and then press Enter.

Step 5
Once you selected your Timing, you can easily download the Audio/Video.
To do this, just click on Share in the top-right corner. Once you do that, you’ll see the Download options.
You’ll see FILE TYPE > MP4 VIDEO with the Download button.
Click on Download. And you’re done! You’ll find your download in your download folder. ♥
Audio available in Canva
Another fantastic feature in Canva is that they have Audio instantly available for use. You can easily access via Audio on the left side panel. The search option makes it super easy to find just what you’re looking for!
Note: Audio is limited using a free Canva account, but you can trial Canva Pro for more options.
You can add the Audio to your design by following Steps 4 to 6 above. ♥
If you haven’t been using Canva, I hope this post encourages you to jump on board. It’s a fantastic creativity tool that makes design fun, and it’s free!
