If you’re blogging, you’ll ideally have a Blog Subscription option on your site. This enables readers to follow your blog via email. ♥
Typically bloggers will add a Blog Subscription Widget to the Primary Sidebar. You’ll see mine located on the right.

Let’s take it a step further and include a Subscribe Button/Option within your blog post or page content.
This is a blogging tip I have to share!
In addition to the Subscription Widget, you can include a Subscribe Button/Option within your blog post or page content. It functions the same as the Widget, but it’s not meant to replace it. It’s a win-win for bloggers and readers.

You can easily add a Subscribe Button, as displayed below, in just a few, quick steps.

How to include a Subscribe Button within a Blog Post and/or Page in WordPress
Let’s get started. First, let’s add a Block.
To add a Block, click on the + Icon (you’ll see Toggle Block Inserter display when you hover over it).
We’re looking for the Subscribe Block listed with the Jetpack options. Jetpack options are typically displayed in green.
You can use the Search tool or just scroll down to view Jetpack options, as displayed below.
NOTE: To add the Subscription Block, you’ll first have to turn it on. From your WordPress dashboard, simply go to Jetpack > Settings > Discussion > Subscriptions. If you’re self-hosted, you may not have access to this option unless you’re using Jetpack.
Once you click on the Subscribe block, you’ll see it display in your blog post or page content.
From here, you can customize your design using the various Block features.
If you don’t see the Block features, as displayed in the image below, just click on the Settings Icon located next to the Publish/Update button.
You’ll see a list of features you can customize:
- Styles (Compact or Split)
- Colour
- Typography
- Border
- Spacing
- Settings (Display Subscribers and Customize Message)
- Advanced
In addition to customizing its appearance, under the Settings feature you can turn on/off subscriber count, change the button’s location, and customize your message to new subscribers.
Save as a Reusable Block
Once you customized your Subscribe block, you can easily add it as a Reusable block for quick, easy access.
With the block selected, click on the three vertical dots to access Options.
Then click on Add to Reusable Blocks.
And you’re done!
