Peace by Piece Puzzles

What is a Peace by Piece Puzzle?

Along with a beautiful, tranquil image, every Peace by Piece Puzzle carries an inspirational verse, a message of hope and love. The verses are written by me and come from a heart of gratitude. Through my words, I aspire to offer solace and hope, love and understanding.

In our face-paced, dynamic, and often complex lives, a gift to oneself or a loved one is special.  A Peace by Piece Puzzle is a gift from the heart; it is permission to quiet the mind alone, or come together with a loved one in a shared experience. During those moments when words are sometimes hard to find, a Peace by Piece Puzzle can be your voice.

Our Story

Some say it’s purely random
Others believe in grand design
I just know I saw my destiny
With one look into your eyes.

My soul no longer searching
In that moment, my heart knew
That every tear and heartache
Has led me straight to you.

The journey was sometimes lonely
Stars bid farewell to me
But an unknown force beckoned
My fate? My destiny?

Hope my guarded virtue
Resilience a dear friend
I carried on with conviction
Not knowing my journey’s end.

Then all was revealed
Be it chance or destiny
For in your eyes I found it
That final, majestic missing piece.

Did you know that the simple act of piecing together a jigsaw puzzle can offer therapeutic benefits? It can, and the promising findings were impossible to ignore. While stimulating the brain, it also acts as a form of meditation, allowing the mind to relax. This simultaneous action has shown promising findings for people living with dementia and can be a valuable source of reprieve for individuals living and coping with mental illness, including PTSD.

My twin sister (Nicole) and I are both proud wives of long-serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces. We didn’t plan it that way. But we are blessed beyond measure.

We all know the devastating impact of PTSD.  It hurts everyone. The man or woman suffering with it, their spouses, partners, children, parents, siblings, friends, relatives, and even their pets. Everyone is impacted.  Many of those who are suffering with PTSD are military, police, paramedics, and firefighters. They are our first responders. In their selfless acts of service, they have suffered. It’s painful to see.

We have immense respect for those who serve, those who suffer, and those who struggle to find peace in their minds and hearts. If we can contribute even a small piece of peace, it is our privilege and honour to do so.

It is this inner call to action that Peace by Piece Puzzles was born.

I love the puzzles in the nicely done video. They remind me of my father who loved to do puzzles. We would do them together along with my sister. My brother and mother didn’t like them.

The last day I spent with my father, the day before he went into a coma, was doing a puzzle. I don’t know what made me go visit him and my mother that day because I was supposed to go to dinner at their house the next day. I thank God he directed me there. Dad went into a coma after surgery and never came out again. He died 16 days later. I will always remember that day doing the puzzle together.

Thank you for sharing this and enabling me to remember and appreciate those moments. ❤️

Thank you for sharing this with me, Janice. Such a beautiful moment and memory to cherish. It warms my heart to know a change in plans made it possible. I offer much gratitude to the keeper of the stars for these gifts.
I’m so very sorry for your loss. When I lost my mom it almost broke me. Twenty one years later I see her in my reflection. They never leave us. Hugs. XO

I have never shared that with anyone outside the family. But I feel close to you in a short time. Strange, huh? Your words touch me and through them I can see how beautiful a person you are! Thank you for your kind words also. I do cherish that memory and hope that I have the best of both my mother and father inside me. My mother passed in 2004 and my dad in 2001. It still feels like yesterday though. I feel them near me always. 🤗 😘 ❤️

What a wonderful idea, Natalie – and it’s so nice that you have been able to do this with your twin sister. I know quite a few people who love relaxing with a jigsaw puzzle. One of my friends has a mother with Alzheimer’s, and when he visits her they always work on a jigsaw together.

Beautiful post, Natalie. That poem is amazing. I didn’t know the benefits of working with puzzles. Thank you for sharing that with us. I miss doing puzzles I used to love them as a kid. Sometimes my anxiety gets the best of me, so I think I’m going to start doing puzzles again. Thank you! <3 xo

An excellent post, Natalie. PTSD is hard on everyone in the family but it’s also an opportunity to learn new ways of being strong.
