Beautiful, Natalie! In our community the schools take the kids to the cemeteries to clean the headstones and leave a poppy in honor of the fallen soldiers. Members of the military are on hand to answer questions and bagpipes play over the field. I love the connection made between past and present and the indelible mark this will leave with these children {{hugs}}

Wonderful poem, Natalie. It amazes me how often these courageous soldiers said what they do has nothing to do with courage and everything to do with simply doing what must be done.
So very true, Jacqui. My husband is a soldier, and it’s quite remarkable. My twin sister’s husband is in the Navy. We try to give back in any way we can. 🙂
